Widespread reports claim that Chelsea have agreed a two-year contract with Brazil star Thiago Silva and that the centre-half is ready to take a pay cut to push through a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian admitted that he played his last game for PSG in the Champions League final defeat to Bayern Munich on Sunday.
“This was my last match at PSG. I am sad,” Silva told RMC Sport after the final whistle in Lisbon.
“I apologise to the supporters. I want to thank all the fans for their love.
“I will come back to PSG… I want to play for three or four more years and be at the World Cup in Qatar.”
Chelsea need a top centre-half and a leader at the back, and Thiago Silva might be the experienced centre-back to join Chelsea this summer.
Former Chelsea captain John Terry, seems to have given his nod of approval for the deal to happen after he liked a post on Instagram by 433 about Silva.
“Thiago Silva says goodbye to PSG after 8 years and 23 trophies,” Instagram account 433 posted shortly after PSG’s defeat on Sunday evening.
“His move to Chelsea is almost done.”
