It was Jose Mourinho who signed Diego Costa for Chelsea from Atletico Madrid, and the Spain international made an instant hit as he scored 20 league goals that season to help hand Chelsea the league.

Costa also impressed under Antonio Conte as he produced a stunning form to lead Chelsea to another league title. However, the Italian tactician sold him after the pair fell out.

Costa has since returned to Atletico, but the Madrid club want to sell the 31-year-old after a disappointing season saw him score just five times.

According to reports, Jose Mourinho has been given the chance to reunite with Diego Costa. Costa could serve as a back up to Harry Kane, as Mourinho is keen to boost his squad having already brought in midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and goalkeeper Joe Hart.

With just a year left on his contract, Atletico could be willing to let him leave for a cheap, but it’s unclear if Mourinho will be signing Costa yet again.

Costa was a big hit during his time at Stamford Bridge, and the aggressive striker won the hearts of Chelsea fans within a short time.
