Two deals that might eventually happen this summer is Kai Havertz signing up for Chelsea and Jadon Sancho signing for Manchester United.
Chelsea and United are set to raid the Bundesliga for two of their top talents, but it won’t come easy.
Reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano, has likened the Chelsea situation of signing Kai Havertz with that of Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho, as he revealed that Havertz has already agreed to join Chelsea, but all that’s left is for the two clubs to agree a fee, with around £80m being mooted.
“It’s time,” Fabrizio Romano said of Kai Havertz potential move to Chelsea on The Beautiful Game Podcast. “I think it’s so similar to the Sancho situation because the player has a total agreement with the club; he wants to leave the club, he’s really determined to leave the club this summer.
“He wants to leave and Chelsea are speaking with him and with Leverkusen. At the moment, there is no agreement between the clubs. The price Chelsea are ready to offer is around 80m but there is no agreement about instalments, add-ons.
“Besides, Chelsea will have to pay in euros and they will need time to finalise this deal. I think it will be completed in the coming weeks because the player really wants to join Chelsea.”
