Kepa Arrizabalaga makes decision on his Chelsea future with Lampard keen on signing a replacement

Following Kepa Arrizabalaga’s poor form in goal for the Blues last season, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is reportedly keen on signing a replacement for the Spanish goalkeeper.

Chelsea have been linked with several goalkeepers over the summer including Edouard Mendy, Nick Pope, Dean Henderson and Jan Oblak.

According to The Sun, Kepa wants to fight for his Chelsea future.

The report claims Kepa has repaired relations with Lampard and is impressed by the club’s defensive strengthening recently. The Blues have signed Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr this summer.

Kepa is now convinced his best option is to stay put rather than seek a move from Stamford Bridge.

Kepa became the world’s most expensive keeper when the Blues paid £71.6million to get the Spanish stopper from Athletic Bilbao in 2018. The 25-year-old still has four years left on a £150,000-a-week contract.

Kepa played 45 minutes of Saturday’s 1-1 friendly draw at Brighton.
