Nemanja Matic left Chelsea for Manchester United in July 2017, to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford for a fee of £40 million.
According to Matic, he left Chelsea for Manchester United because Manchester United are the biggest club in England.
“I always liked United especially when Nemanja Vidic was playing here,” Nemanja Matic told Manchester United’s official website.
“He is from Serbia, he lives not far from my house in West Serbia, so we always supported him.
“When I got the opportunity to come here I wanted to play for United, for probably the biggest club in England and one of the best clubs in the world.
“We can say maybe Real Madrid, Manchester United and maybe Bayern. For me that’s the three biggest clubs in the world.”
Matic made 154 appearances for the Blues, winning 3 major trophies, including 2 Premier League titles. Since joining Manchester United, he is yet to win a Premier League title.
