Former Arsenal striker and Germany international Lukas Podolski is confident that new Chelsea signing Timo Werner will be a success at Stamford Bridge.
Werner joined the Blues from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig after an impressive season which saw him score 34 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions last season.
Podolski told The Athletic: “When you score 28 goals in the Bundesliga, you are a good player.
“He’s quick, has a good shot, runs a lot and will fit in with this Chelsea team with its young players and coach, if they can accommodate him.”
Meanwhile, Danish forward Poulsen, who played alongside Werner in attack for Leipzig, has asked Chelsea fans to be patient with Timo Werner when the new season starts.
“I think Timo will be a great striker in the Premier League over the next few years,” Poulsen said in an interview with the Sport-Informations-Dienst (SID).
“Of course, he has to get to know his team-mates and the league first; you can’t show all your qualities right away. But that will come in time.”
