Referee Anthony Taylor congratulated for being Arsenal’s best player in Chelsea’s FA Cup defeat to Arsenal

Referee Anthony Taylor has been criticised for his performance in Chelsea’s 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

Several major incidents seemed to go Arsenal’s way, with Mateo Kovacic sent off after an extremely soft second yellow card the most high-profile decision.

Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez wasn’t penalised despite handling the ball outside the box.

Chelsea fans have now congratulated Taylor for being Arsenal’s best player against Chelsea and delivering the trophy to the Gunners.

“Well done Arsenal and Anthony Taylor. Arsenal fans, he was your best player on the pitch,” a Chelsea fan tweeted.

“congratulations to Anthony Taylor. match-winning performance,” another Chelsea fan tweeted.

“Anthony Taylor, looks like corruption at its finest. Simple as that,” another fan tweeted.

What are thoughts on the performance of Taylor?

With now the introduction of VAR, referees that officiate matches poorly must be charged or suspended. Before VAR referees were shieded alot, now that whatever happening on the pitch can checked. Relevant authorities shouldn’t tolerate such poor officiating.

  2. such refeereis that
do officiate amatch or games rallying their decision on either side should be barred from officiating and their certificates be consficated and be punished severely for such act to ensure it’s been alesson to such kind of negligence manners in the fields of football game

The referee was an Arsenal player.Eveeybody who viewed this game knows that Arsenal have nothing to cerebrate. This was a daylight robbery. This referee should be shot with poisoned arrows.Isnt there a remedy to such poorly officiated match.Even a blind man would have note the fake officiating of this disgrace!

The referee though is congratulated but it was the FA decision to award the Gunners. Therefore, the FA should be congratulated instead of Anthony Taylor. Blues should move on and concentrate on what lays ahead. Overall, Congratulations to the FA for being one-sided.
