Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Chelsea’s interest in signing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on signing a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer following the Spaniard’s inconsistencies in goal for the Blues this season.
Romano poured cold water on Lampard’s hopes of signing Oblak this summer by insisting there’s no chance of Chelsea signing the Slovenian goalkeeper this summer.
Atletico Madrid are under no pressure to sell Oblak this summer after extending his contract just last year. A release clause of €120 million was also inserted in his contract.
With Atletico Madrid unwilling to sell Oblak, Romano claims Chelsea will be unable to afford a transfer for Oblak in the current financial circumstances.
