New Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell didn’t go on international duty with the England team, due to his injury.
The 23-year-old has been spending time with a Chelsea player Billy Gilmour, who has also been recovering from an injury that ruled him out for three months.
Ben Chilwell has posted a photo of himself having a good time with Gilmour and posted it on his social media page.
“@billygilmour, what a guy,” the caption wrote on Chilwell’s Instagram story after meeting with Gilmour.
Gilmour made 11 appearances in total during a breakthrough 2019/20 campaign.
Towards the end of last season, Gilmour was forced off in the closing stages of a 3-2 Premier League victory at Crystal Palace.
Speaking at the time after a successful surgery, Blues boss Frank Lampard said: “Billy Gilmour has had an operation on his knee this morning, so he will be out we estimate somewhere between three and four months unfortunately.
“I’m obviously very disappointed as we all are here and of course Billy himself.
“I spoke with him yesterday at length, and giving him support.
“He’s a tough boy, it hit him hard especially as a young boy who has just made a breakthrough.
“But I told him he should be very pleased with what he’s done and the impact he’s had this season anyway. His attitude will get him back as quickly as he can.”
