Chelsea will be away to Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Monday night, as the new Premier League season kicks off on Saturday.

Many will be looking to see how Chelsea start the new season with all the massive signings that has been done by Frank Lampard, and former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is expecting Chelsea to start on a bang.

Berbatov has backed Chelsea to beat Brighton 4-0 as he expects the new signings to play a key role.

The Betfair pundit said: “First game for Lampard’s new signings, everyone will expect them to win, and I am no different. I think they could get off to a brilliant start here.”

Meanwhile, Brighton manager Graham Potter has backed Chelsea to have a brilliant season.

“The intention is clear,” Brighton manager Graham Potter said during the pre-Chelsea presser on Friday, as quoted by BT Sport.

“They want to compete at the top. They had a really good season in terms of finishing fourth with a transfer embargo and introducing new young players and playing in the Champions League.

“I’m guessing for a club like Chelsea and for someone like Frank who has competed at the top for most of his career, they will want to push on and try to compete for the title.

“It looks like they have recruited well and got some really good players in to addition to the good players they have already, and they will be a strong side, there’s no doubt about that.

“We expect them to be a force again, but this is the Premier League and we look forward to the challenge.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
