It was a dour affair at Stamford Bridge, from Chelsea’s side at least, as the Blues were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool on Sunday evening.

Sadio Mane scored two goals in quick succession shortly after the restart, and it was enough to see the Blues out.

There were not many outstanding performances from the Chelsea team, but Timo Werner was one man who was ready to give his all for the team.

Werner used his pace to trouble the Liverpool defence and won a penalty for Chelsea in the process.

Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas seemed impressed with the German’s display.

Fabregas was impressed with the runs of Werner, as he posted on Twitter, ‘Werner’s runs’ next to clapping hands and thumbs up emojis.

Werner is yet to score his first Chelsea goal, but has won back to back penalties for the team.
