Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was under the spotlight yet again as the Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Liverpool.
Kepa has been blamed for coming out too early in the incident leading to Andreas Christensen’s red card, and he easily gave the ball away to Sadio Mane to tap in for Liverpool’s second.
Chelsea legend and French World Cup winner Frank Leboeuf doesn’t think that Kepa should continue in goal as Chelsea No.1 and believes that incoming Chelsea signing Edouard Mendy will do a better job than the world record goalkeeper signing.
“He had a very good season at Rennes, I am very confident that he can do the job much better than Kepa and even [Willy] Caballero,” Leboeuf told ESPN FC.
“I don’t know if there is another goalkeeper that Chelsea could find, but for that amount of money it’s a bargain to have Mendy.
“He’s a tall goalkeeper, very agile and I’m sure he’s going to do the job. But Kepa cannot do the job anymore, it’s over.”
