According to The Athletic, the Blues remain interested in signing West Ham midfielder Declan Rice despite West Ham insisting the England international isn’t for sale.
West Ham reportedly value Rice at around £80million, a fee Chelsea are unwilling to meet.
The report adds that Chelsea are willing to offer Ross Barkley to the London club in exchange to try to lower the fee.
West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Barkley and the Blues are hoping offering Barkley plus cash could convince West Ham to sell Rice.
Previous reports have stated West Ham are unwilling to sell Rice this summer even if Chelsea meet their demands for the midfielder.
It is believed Rice will only be allowed to leave West Ham if he pushes for a transfer but that scenario is unlikely given his strong bond with the West Ham fans.
