Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the Blues are in talks with the agent of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
Following the completion of the signing of Edouard Mendy from Rennes, Chelsea have reportedly turned attention to signing Rice from West Ham.
Romano claims Chelsea haven’t made any official bid yet for Rice but will do so after selling some players not needed by Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.
Rice is reportedly ‘pushing to join’ Chelsea and will tell West Ham he wants to go, though they are adamant they won’t sell him.
Romano tweeted: “Chelsea have not made any official bid yet for Declan Rice. Talks on with his agent – but now it’s time to sell/loan out players, then #CFC will open talks on next days with West Ham. #WHUFC insist they won’t sell Rice but the player is pushing to join Chelsea.”
