Chelsea have confirmed midfielder Lewis Baker will spend the 2020/21 season on loan with Turkish club Trabzonspor.
It will be a fourth season abroad for Baker, who spent two years in the Netherlands with Vitesse Arnhem and made nine appearances for Fortuna Dusseldorf in the German top flight last term.
Baker’s loan deal at Trabzonspor will see the 25 year old midfielder work under former Chelsea midfielder Eddie Newton, who was appointed as Trabzonspor manager last month after leading them to victory in the Turkish Cup and a second-place finish in the league as caretaker boss.
Baker has been with Chelsea since Under-10s level and was named Chelsea Young Player of the Year in 2014.
Baker’s senior Blues debut came in January 2014, when he was introduced off the bench to replace Oscar in a 2-0 victory over Derby County in the FA Cup third round.
