Chelsea have been strongly linked with Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy this summer with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard keen on signing a goalkeeper following Kepa Arrizabalaga’s struggles in goal for the Blues last season.
According to RMC Sport, Mendy has already agreed a five year deal to join Chelsea but the Blues and Rennes are reportedly yet to agree a transfer fee for the 28 year old goalkeeper.
Chelsea have already had a £14million bid for Mendy rejected by Rennes who are reportedly holding out for 23m for their goalkeeper.
However, it appears it will only be a matter of time before a move is sanction following Holveck’s admission in a press conference on Wednesday.
When asked about Mendy’s ongoing situation, Holveck said: “We’ve started official negotiations with Chelsea to sell Edouard Mendy.
“We know the player wants to leave [and join Chelsea]. But the agreement at the moment is not 100 per cent completed between the three parts.”
