Liverpool and Manchester City have been the dominant teams in the Premier League in recent seasons, and the two teams are rated as one of the best sides in Europe.

For Chelsea, the Blues last won the league in the 2016-17 season under Antonio Conte, and since then, it has been 5th, 3rd and 4th place finish for Chelsea over the past three years.

For this season, the Blues have strengthened the team significantly, and former Chelsea player and manager Ruud Gullit believes that the new target is for the team to finish in the top two.

The Dutchman told BBC Sport: “It’s clear Chelsea are trying to break into the top two.

“They have made some good signings but that doesn’t mean anything yet. You never know how they will blend in.

“It’s the Premier League, a different league – different pace, different everything. It’s not easy.”

Chelsea will start the new season with an away clash with Brighton on Monday, and all eyes will be on what Chelsea will do in this game.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
