Kai Havertz might need some time to fit into the Chelsea team, as the new Blues signing has struggled in his first two games for the club.
Havertz was the biggest signing of the summer for Chelsea, but the former Bayer Leverkusen star has been unable to keep the ground running so far.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher slammed Kai Havertz performance in the game against Liverpool, and doesn’t think that the new Blues star doesn’t fit the club.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp was displeased that Havertz is being judged too quickly.
“You’ve got to give Havertz time,” Redknapp told Sky Sports in response to Carragher’s statement.
“We have to be careful. We’re judging a player. You’ve got (Christian) Pulisic and (Hakim) Ziyech to come in.
“I think Havertz is a No10. With the three they played in midfield today, you need a bit more craft.
“Are we sitting here and questioning Havertz, he’s been here two minutes?”
Former Chelsea star Ashley Cole echoed Redknapp’s calls for Havertz to be given time as he added: “New players coming in, it’s a process. The new players will have time to gel. Kai Havertz trained four or five days.
“If you want to shift Havertz in a No10 position, then somebody’s got to go. Perhaps Jorginho or Kovacic.”
Jamie Carragher I don’t think that your opinion is needed in this matter because your wish is never for him to succeed at Chelsea but wait you will surely swallow your words in shame, because I don’t think that you will ever want anything good to happen to Chelseafc but we shall see in May 2021.
