Chelsea defeated Barnsley 6-0 in our third round Carabao Cup and Kai Havertz was undoubtedly the man of the match, after scoring a first senior career hat-trick.
Besides his hat-trick, Havertz put in a massive performance and was just too brilliant to watch. Havertz played off the back of Tammy Abraham, and he looked at his best with some very good movements around the box.
Havertz has now admitted that he has a good partnership with Tammy, as Tammy was part of two of his goals.
Havertz said: “I think he’s a very, very good striker and I think our partnership on the pitch was very good. ‘It was our first game together but I like him very much as a striker. For me as a No. 10 it’s very good to play with him.”
Blues boss Frank Lampard was also pleased with the link-up between Abraham and Havertz.
The Blues boss said: “The combinations he had with Tammy, the way he grew into the game and had confidence and the three goals. It was a great night for Kai and the first of many for him.”
