Earlier reports had claimed Serie A giants Inter Milan are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, with Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte keen on reuniting with the French midfielder.

A report on Goal also claimed Chelsea are willing to sell Kante if a large offer is received from Inter Milan.

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has finally responded to speculation linking Inter Milan with a move for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

According to Ausilio, Inter Milan are not interested in signing Kante.

He said (as quoted by Fabrizio Romano): “We’ve never started anything to sign Kante from Chelsea. No chance. He’s not a target.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink insists Kante remains Chelsea’s most important player despite the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell.

“Kante will be Chelsea’s most important player this season,” Hasselbaink told GentingBet.

“Chelsea are going to attack and be so dominant so I would like to see him a lot more behind the ball than in front of the ball.

“If he can rediscover his form, like it was in the first season under Antonio Conte, or like it was when he was at Leicester, then Chelsea will do really well.”
