Three Chelsea players were involved in the UEFA Nations League games on Sunday, with Antonio Rudiger, Timo Werner and Ethan Ampadu all featuring for Germany and Wales respectively.
Timo Werner who ended last season in hot form for RB Leipzig was unable to add to his current streak with another goal, as Germany played a 1-1 draw with Switzerland.
Germany took the lead in the 14th minute through Ilkay Gundogan. Switzerland got a deserved goal following an excellent finish from Basel’s Silvan Widmer.
Antonio Rudiger and Timo Werner played the entire minutes of the game, and although Werner didn’t score, he was very impressive.
Meanwhile, Ethan Ampadu was in spectacular form yet again, as Wales defeated Bulgaria 1-0. The Welsh side got the victory in the 94th minute, and have now won back to back games by a lone goal, keeping a clean sheet in those games.
Ampadu has been impressive in both games for Wales, and is looking sharp and fit following an injury ravaged season on loan with RB Leipzig last season.
For Spain, Kepa remained on the bench as Spain beat Andriy Shevchenko’s Ukraine 4-0.
