It was definitely a debut to forget for Thiago Silva, as the Blues managed to play a 3-3 draw against West Brom.
As early as the 27th minute, the scoreline was already 3-0, which was a disappointing sign to watch.
Thiago Silva made a horrible error to give the Baggies a second goal, and Jamie Redknapp has likened the unfortunate incident to the one experienced by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, as former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp gave his analysis on the game.
“It’s one of those Steven Gerrard moments,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports. “Ball goes under his foot – remember Demba Ba going through – and Robinson does exactly what he did.
“It’s a really good finish, hits it low past Caballero.”
Redknapp slammed almost the entire team for such an awful performance.
“But that goal sums it up, they’ve been sloppy, so lethargic,” he added. “They’ve given the ball away time after time – Kante, Kovacic.
“They have been so bad in that first-half in terms of how loose they’ve been on the ball, loose in winning the second ball and that pretty much sums it up.
“West Brom have been excellent, but Chelsea have given them so much hope.
“It’s almost like a dream.”
