The Senegal international who impressed for Rennes last season has impressed Chelsea enough to be a low budget signing, as the club won’t be keen on spending huge on another goalkeeper, not after a £250m outlay this window.
Edouard has a good height of 6’4″, compared to Kepa who’s 6’1″ tall, and the Senegal international has an average career save success rate of 76 per cent which is better than Kepa has had over the last 2 seasons.
According to The Telegraph’s Matt Law on the London is Blue podcast, Kepa has no intention of leaving Chelsea and is ready to stay and fight for his place with Mendy.
Meanwhile, Kepa’s camp believe the Spaniard would benefit from the increased competition for a starting spot in the Chelsea goal and that he would not ask to leave the club.
