It will be a day of reunion for Frank Lampard and Branislav Ivanovic as West Brom host Chelsea this evening at the Hawthorns.
Ivanovic is fondly remembered by Chelsea fans for giving his all for the club, and the Blues legend is now back in the Premier League.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted that he’s pleased with Ivanovic’s return and cannot wait to see the 36-year-old defender.
Lampard compared Ivanovic’s longevity to that of Thiago Silva who recently turned 36.
“The longevity of both those players is testament to their professionalism,” said Lampard.
“I have seen that in the short term I’ve worked with Thiago, and I know that even better with Branna from our long time together at Chelsea.
“He’s had an incredible career. A determined, talented, give-it-everything kind of defender and person that I am extremely close to. I’m delighted he’s got an opportunity to have another go at the Premier League. It was a pleasure to play with him and I’m looking forward to seeing him. I love him!”
However, Ivanovic who recently signed up for the Baggies, wasn’t included in their squad for this game.
