Chelsea striker Timo Werner had a big bag of ice strapped to his right knee after Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Brighton and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has now given details about the injury.
Speaking about Werner’s injury against Brighton, Lampard said: “Timo took a knock when he won the penalty. It’s more of a dead leg we hope.
“I wouldn’t think too much in terms of next week there but I’d think it was a dead leg, we’ve got a bit of time for him to get right.”
Werner also insisted after the 3-1 victory over Brighton that he will be fit to face Liverpool next weekend.
Asked whether he will be fit to face Liverpool, Werner told Sky Sports: “Of course. In games like this, you’re always fit.”
