Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted that he will hold talks with Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, having signed a new goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
Kepa has been Chelsea’s number one since sealing a £72m record move from Athletic Bilbao, but he’s now set to lose his place following the acquisition of Mendy from Rennes.
Lampard has said that he’d hold talks with Kepa and even Willy Caballero on the state of things.
“I haven’t spoken to him, but I will have a conversation with him and Caballero in 24 hours or so,” the Chelsea coach said.
“There is good competition between them.”
Lampard also revealed that the game against West Brom came too soon for new signing Mendy, who’s yet to fully train with the team.
He said: “He has had a long week when he has not really trained, he flew in yesterday and it feels too tight a turnaround to put him in contention to start the game.”
