Before the game against Chelsea, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho had claimed that Chelsea were going to be winners, due to the advantage Frank Lampard’s side had.

Mourinho had even pretended that he would name a very weakened side for the game, claiming that he prioritised their Europa League game on Thursday, but he named quite a strong squad nevertheless.

During the game, he unsettled Frank Lampard with a touchline drama, as he used the West Brom game to mock his former player.

In an interview before the game, Mourinho took a dig at new Chelsea defender Thiago Silva, targeting the error he made against the Baggies.

Mourinho was asked about the unavailability of Dele Alli, but he rather aimed a dig at the 36-year-old Thiago Silva than answer the question.

Mourinho said: “No Dele Alli, no Sonny [Heung-Min Son], no Giovanni Le Celso.

“I’m not going to speak about the players that are not here.

“Are you going to ask Frank [Lampard] about why Thiago Silva is not here? Is it the mistake he made or another reason?”
