According to Daily Mail, Aston Villa are interested in a potential loan deal for Chelsea’s Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus Cheek as they look to strengthen their midfield.
Due to Premier League loan rules, Aston Villa can only sign either Barkley or Loftus-Cheek.
Villa had earlier tried to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham but he wasn’t willing to leave Stamford Bridge.
Barkley played 90 minutes of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup victory over Barnsley on Wednesday night, scoring Chelsea’s third goal.
Loftus-Cheek, meanwhile, was left out after Frank Lampard was left disappointed by his performance in Chelsea’s opening-day win over Brighton earlier this month.
