Kai Havertz was officially confirmed as a Chelsea player on Friday evening, having signed a five-year deal with Chelsea.
The 21-year-old was given permission to leave Germany’s training camp in Stuttgart earlier this week and flew to the UK, as he became Chelsea’s sixth signing of the summer.
Havertz has revealed that he’s joining a big club in Chelsea so he can win trophies.
He said in an interview with Chelsea FC: “I want to achieve as much as possible, I try to do my best and of course it is a very big step. For me it is a new country, a new culture and it is difficult maybe in the first two or three weeks, but then I think I just want to play football and have fun with the boys.
“Of course I want to have big success and we want to win titles here. Chelsea is always a big club and they want to win titles and I try to do my best so we can achieve these things.”
The deal for Kai Havertz took a lengthy time to be completed, as Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen were locked in negotiations.
Meanwhile, Chelsea fans kept bombarding Kai Havertz with messages for him to join the club, and he has now sent a message to the Blues fans who couldn’t wait to see him at the club.
He said: “First of all, thank you very much. I am glad to be here and I read very many messages from them and they write to me very often on my social media account. So I saw that and cannot wait to play in front of the fans.
“I try to do my best to make them proud and I try to do my best so we have many successes.”
