Bertrand Traore was among a set of highly rated young players who didn’t make it to the senior team just a few years ago.
The former Chelsea forward completed a switch to Lyon worth up to £16 million back in 2017, and is now being linked with a return to the Premier League, as Aston Villa are keen on signing him.
Reports in France claim Aston Villa have made a £19m offer for Lyon winger Bertrand Traore as Dean Smith bids to bolster his attacking options for the new season.
Traore played 35 matches last season for Lyon, as he featured mainly on the right wing, and he scored four goals, and added five assists.
Chelsea added a buyback clause in the deal that saw Traore move to Lyon, and according to report at the time, the Blues are due to receive 15 percent of any profit from a future sale. Chelsea will now be set to receive some money from the French club if they should they sell him.
If Villa complete the signing of Bertrand, Chelsea would get a little under £3m to add to the club’s purse.
