Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard had a season to forget following his big money move to Real Madrid last summer.

Hazard could only score one goal in all competitions for the Los Blancos as he struggled for form and fitness, with injury playing a part to curtail his season.

However, it wasn’t just about form as Hazard returned to Real Madrid last season overweight.

Hazard looked overweight before the season began and he later admitted that he was five kilograms heavier than he should have been when he signed for Real, but played it down by saying that he’d get back to shape by the time the season starts.

“It’s true,” Hazard told L’Equipe. “I’m not going to hide it, but when I’m on vacation, I’m on vacation.

“I had put on five kilos, I’m the type to put on quickly and lose so quickly if I’m careful.

“When I was 18, in Lille, I was 72 or 73kg. Muscle mass was 75kg, on a bad day, 77kg. I was 80kg this summer, I lost it in 10 days.”

Surprisingly, Hazard has reportedly returned to the Real Madrid camp overweight yet again.

Reports in Spain claim that the 29-year-old has upset Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane with his current physical state, and Sport reports that Hazard will need two or three weeks to reach the same fitness level as his teammates.
