It had previously been reported that Edouard Mendy had reached a five-year agreement with Chelsea, but all that was left was for the two clubs to agree on a transfer fee.

Reports now claim that Chelsea have agreed a deal with Rennes for Mendy worth £25m.

French TV station TVR showing footage of Mendy leaving training on Friday alongside his agent, as he skipped training and has been left out of the team that will face Nimes.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, claims Chelsea have had a breakthrough in negotiations, with some reports claiming that a deal could be confirmed today.

The 28-year-old Senegal international is set to follow in the footsteps of Blues legend Petr Cech, who made the same move from Rennes to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2004.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.

  1. Chelseafc is the main deal this time around with the huge arrival of goal stopper Mendy to partner with Kepa in mending the loopholes in the goal polls. Best of luck to ChelseaFC in their quest this 2020/21 season.
