According to reports, Chelsea’s summer spending won’t stop with the arrival of Edouard Mendy from Rennes for a fee of around £20million.
According to Football Insider, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has given the green light for Chelsea to submit an offer for Declan Rice that is set to include England international Ross Barkley in part-exchange.
Chelsea value Barkley at around the £30million mark and are willing to let him go two-and-a-half years after his arrival from Everton.
Chelsea’s offer for Rice will be worth a reported £70million, including Barkley.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is a huge admirer of Rice because he can play in defence and central midfield. Lampard also believes Rice can play at elite Premier League and Champions League level.
