Fernando Torres was a big money signing for Chelsea in January 2011 after a £50m move from Liverpool, and after five-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge, Torres eventually left Chelsea in the summer of 2016.
Torres played 172 games for Chelsea and scored only 45 times but the Blues fans will always remember him for his goal against Barcelona in the semi-final clash enroute to Chelsea winning the Champions League.
Torres won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup with Chelsea before returning to Atletico in 2016 after a brief loan spell at AC Milan.
Despite the love shown to him by Chelsea fans, Torres has blamed himself for not adapting quickly enough to the Chelsea team.
Torres told talkSPORT: “It was maybe my fault for not being able to adapt quicker. I had really good moments but I was not consistent. And if you are not consistent at a big club like Chelsea and you are not performing every week then someone will come in and take your position.
“Arriving at a club like that full of stars in the middle of the season it is very difficult to fit in. Maybe I didn’t find the partnership that I had with [Steven] Gerrard, Mascherano and Xabi but I always said it was my fault. I was old enough to find solutions but I didn’t do it.
“I’m happy because I won the trophies that I wanted, I played really good football but I didn’t do it every weekend so in any big club in the world if you don’t perform every weekend then it is not enough.”
