According to Daily Mail, Tottenham have identified Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger as an alternative to Inter Milan’s centre back Milan Skriniar.
Spurs have now been forced to consider a deal for Rudiger after failing to reach an agreement with Inter Milan for the transfer of Skriniar.
Rudiger’s days as a Chelsea player are numbered after failing to make an appearance for the Blues this season.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is reportedly open to letting the 27 year old defender leave but will prefer Rudiger joins French club Paris Saint-Germain and not direct rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Rudiger is approaching the final 18 months of his deal so loaning out the central defender would open the door to losing him for nothing at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
Chelsea will reportedly only consider a loan move for Rudiger if the German signs a contract extension to avoid losing him for free in the summer of 2022.
