Chelsea were unable to get a goal against Liverpool, as the Blues were beaten 2-0 by the reigning champions at Stamford Bridge.

It wasn’t a good Chelsea performance, as Jurgen Klopp’s side capitalised on the one man advantage to score twice in the second half of the game.

Timo Werner looked sharp whenever he got a touch of the ball and even won a penalty kick for Chelsea, which Jorginho failed to convert.

Speaking after the game, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk was full of praise for their anchor midfielder Fabinho who played as a centre-back in that game, and claims that the Brazilian got the better of Werner.

When asked about Fabinho’s performance against Chelsea after the game, Van Dijk told LFC TV: “Outstanding.

“I just told him as well I think he was man of the match today. To keep a striker like Werner, don’t let him score, a bit unlucky with the penalty incident, but overall he was outstanding.

“Everyone knows how good he is.

“But it shows also that we need everyone.

“We were a bit unlucky with the injuries now but hopefully everyone comes back, it’s going to be such a long season.”
