Chelsea’s move for Kai Havertz is all but done, as the 21-year-old star is set to join Chelsea this summer.

Havertz is expected to be Chelsea’s record signing, with the Blues set to sign him up for up to £90m. Bayer Leverkusen has reached agreement with Chelsea over an initial deal of £72m, with add-ons expected to take it to £90m.

Havertz has reportedly agreed a five-year deal with Chelsea, but his official unveiling may have to be put on hold, as he’s currently on national duty with Germany at their training camp in Stuttgart.

Germany have Nations League fixtures against Spain and Switzerland this week, and Havertz will eventually be unveiled afterwards.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz has revealed that Havertz won’t return to the Bayer Leverkusen squad.

Asked if he expected the 21-year-old to return to Leverkusen at the end of the international break, Bosz said: “Unfortunately our squad isn’t set yet. I don’t expect (Kevin) Volland and Havertz to train with us again.

“It’s possible more players will transfer. We definitely still have to add some players.”
