Edouard Mendy wasn’t part of the matchday squad for Chelsea’s 3-3 draw at West Brom on Saturday following his transfer from Rennes last week.
The Senegalese international was deemed not ready to play following his limited training with his new Chelsea teammates.
Ben Chilwell has played just once for the Blues since his transfer from Leicester, the 6-0 win over Barnsley, but wasn’t part of the squad for Saturday’s game against West Brom.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed both players are available for selection for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Lampard said: “Mendy and Chilwell are both in the squad for tomorrow. They are fit and now we will see whether they start or not.”
Lampard also confirmed Mendy has settled well into life as a Chelsea player.
Lampard added: “Mendy has settled in very well and he’s been made to feel welcome, as we do with any new player coming in.
“It’s all very positive and he’s a good goalkeeper. He comes in and he will add that strong competition that we require in each position.”
