Chelsea travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley on Saturday, just days after beating Krasnodar 4-0 in Russia.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will have spent the past 24 hours assessing his players’ fatigue levels after they returned from Russia in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Thiago Silva didn’t travel with the squad to Russia and is expected to return to the starting XI against Burnley. N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic are also in line to return to the starting XI having been introduced as substitutes in the 4-0 win over Krasnodar.
Lampard is expected to stick with the 4-3-3 formation that worked so well in the second against Krasnodar after the Blues had initially lost control of the game. If Lampard uses a 4-3-3 against Burnley, we could see Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and N’Golo Kante play in central midfield.
Predicted XI against Burnley: Edouard Mendy; Reece James, Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Ben Chilwell; Kai Havertz, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount; Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic.
