Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek joined fellow west London club Fulham on loan on transfer deadline day.
It has been a tough 18 months for Loftus-Cheek, who suffered a ruptured Achilles’ tendon in May 2019 and didn’t make a return until June this year.
Loftus-Cheek started Chelsea’s opening Premier League game at Brighton, but looked way below his best and hasn’t featured for the Blues since then.
Chelsea fans will love Loftus-Cheek’s reason for joining Fulham after the midfielder insisted his loan move to Fulham is all about getting back to his ‘best football’.
“I’m really happy to come ‘next door,’ if you will,” Loftus-Cheek said after joining Fulham.
“I watched Fulham at the start of the season and they looked like they’re playing decent football.
“With this manager, I think I can get back to my best football. That’s the main thing for me, to find my form and help this team win games.”
