Chelsea have a hectic schedule ahead, with Frank Lampard’s side to play four games in less than two weeks.
But first, Chelsea must make the odd trip of 4200 miles to and fro the Russian town, before facing a stubborn Burnley side away from home on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea have now played two back to back goalless draws, following the stalemate against Sevilla and Manchester United, and many complained about the drab performance against United at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
Chelsea legend Pat Nevin is expecting another boring game away to Krasnodar, as he pointed out that all the team needs is just a win, and there may be no need to be pretty about it.
Nevin wrote in his column for the official Chelsea website: “Maybe it is a good thing that we have finally learned how to play a cagier game over the last two outings. To succeed in Europe at the top level, you really must be clever and know when to sit back and play on the break. Rest, even during some games, is sensible.
“This is a mostly new team Frank has assembled, but over the years Chelsea fans have grown used to understanding what is needed in these ties, and it isn’t always pretty.”
