According to Goal, the Blues are set to hand Chelsea teenager Henry Lawrence a new contract.
The full-back has impressed Frank Lampard on several occasions and could become the latest youngster to break into the first-team.
The youngster, who was among the substitutes in last season’s Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, will put pen to paper on a new three-year deal in the coming days.
Last season, Lawrence was a regular for the Blues’ Under-23 team and he is expected to leave the club on loan in January to have a taste of first team football.
It is thought a Championship stint or move abroad, potentially to Vitesse, would be suitable for Lawrence.
