Chelsea were strongly linked with an £80million move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice during the summer transfer window but a move never materialised.
Various reports claim Chelsea are interested in making a move for the midfielder in January as Chelsea boss Frank Lampard believes the West Ham midfielder is needed at Stamford Bridge.
According to Daily Star, West Ham are preparing a big-money contract offer to Rice in the coming weeks as they look to tie down the 21-year-old with Chelsea still interested in his signature.
The report claims West Ham will double Rice’s current wages of £60,000 per week and extend his contract by a year to 2025.
Rice has already made over 100 Premier League appearances for West Ham at the age of 21 and last season was named their Young Player of the Year for the third season running.
