Chelsea right-back Reece James has gotten his first England senior team call-up, as England boss Gareth Southgate has decided to hand the Chelsea academy product his first senior team invitation.
Reece, as well as Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell are part of the Three Lions squad for October’s triple-header of internationals, which includes a friendly against Wales on Thursday, before two Nations League games against Belgium and Denmark.
James was originally named in the England Under-21 squad for their forthcoming UEFA European Championship qualifiers against Andorra and Turkey, which also includes Blues youngsters Callum Hudson-Odoi and Marc Guehi.
However, Reece James will now join the senior team, having impressed the England boss, following his consistent displays since last season.
Meanwhile, the FA has announced that the arrival of Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell and Jadon Sancho will be delayed, having been part of a surprise party for Abraham that had over 20 people in attendance. Proper checks will be conducted on them before they will be permitted to join the rest of the team.
