Chelsea got a 4-0 win against Crystal Palace last weekend, just before we went into the international break.

The Blues were held down by Palace in the first 45 minutes of the game and had to come out for the second half a different animal to win the game 4-0.

Crystal Palace star Andros Townsend believes the 4-0 margin flattered Chelsea and called it a false result. According to Townsend, Palace’s gameplan worked in the first half, but Chelsea’s quality showed in the second half.

“I think it was a false result – it wasn’t a 4-0 – but they did surprise us,” Crystal Palace forward Andros Townsend told talkSPORT.

“They had a lot of new players and we were expecting to catch them cold, catch them early into their Premier League careers. We did that in the first half, but in the second their quality showed through and they are a side who will be right up there come the end of the season.”

However, Townsend believes that Chelsea are still quite a bit behind Liverpool and Manchester City.

He added: “I do think it will be a little bit closer [the title race], but I still think Liverpool and City are far and away ahead of the other sides.

“I think there will be more teams chasing them and they will be bunched up; it will be interesting who takes the third and fourth place. But I can’t look beyond Liverpool and Man City this season.”

We’d see how the league pans out this season, because no team has won the title just based on predictions. This season might end up being a very strange one.
