Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has a very large squad at his disposal, as he’s currently left with three left-backs and five centre-backs, three strikers and multiple midfielders.

Chelsea were unable to sell or loan out the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Fikayo Tomori, Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri before transfer deadline day. It was even worst for Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses who had never been in the manager’s plans.

Last season, Moses spent time on loan at Fenerbahce and Inter Milan, with Antonio Conte’s side believed to have been interested in re-signing the Nigerian before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Drinkwater was unable to get any tangible interest after two unsuccessful loan spells away to Burnley and Aston Villa last term. The former Leicester City midfielder has not played for Chelsea since the 2018 Community Shield game against Manchester City.

Baba Rahman, fourth-choice goalkeeper Nathan Baxter and Charly Musonda are also part of the Chelsea group that aren’t in the Champions League squad, and who need to find a new club as soon as possible.

Chelsea will start their Champions League quest this season with an opening fixture against Sevilla at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday October 20.
