Chelsea striker Timo Werner has undergone several coronavirus tests after experiencing some flu-like symptoms.
Werner has been experiencing flu-like symptoms since joining up with the German national team from Chelsea.
Werner has been ruled out of Germany’s international friendly against Turkey on Wednesday due to the symptoms he has been experiencing.
Germany coach Joachim Low’s assistant, Marcus Sorg said in his press conference on Tuesday: “Timo Werner has a slight cold and won’t join up with the team today.”
Borg also confirmed that Werner’s Chelsea team-mate, Kai Havertz, will start against Turkey and hailed his ability to step up for Germany, regardless of whether they are playing friendlies or competitive matches.
“He is a player who can always raise our game,” he said.
“So I think he will definitely be starting tomorrow.”
