Chelsea brushed aside Burnley at Turf Moor with a three-goal salvo after a superb attacking performance.
Hakim Ziyech, on his first Premier League start for the Blues, netted Chelsea’s first goal after receiving a pass from Tammy Abraham.
The Blues dominated the first half with 70 percent possession of the ball, with Burnley having just one attempt on goal, which wasn’t even on target.
Chelsea’s second goal from a set piece after 63 minutes. Mason Mount’s outswinging corner went over a sea of Burnley heads, and Kurt Zouma was unmarked to nod powerfully past Burnley goalkeeper Pope.
Timo Werner then made it 3-0 for the Blues after receiving a pass from Hakim Ziyech.
Burnley finished the game without having a shot on target and that will definitely please Chelsea boss Frank Lampard. He will also be pleased Chelsea kept a fourth consecutive clean sheet in all competitions.
