Manchester City and Liverpool have been the two top teams in the Premier League over the past three seasons.

Liverpool have been the popular choice to win the league yet again, with Manchester City also touted as the bookmakers favourite.

However, this weekend saw a strange set of results, as Manchester City drew 1-1 with Leeds United and were beaten 5-2 by Leicester City the previous week. City have only gotten four points from their opening three games, which is very strange.

Liverpool were beaten 7-2 by Aston Villa who managed to stay up last season, Tottenham beat Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford, even Chelsea were 3-0 down to West Brom at half time and had to crawl back to draw the game 3-3. West Ham defeated Leicester City 4-0 in another shocking twist.

Everton are surprisingly top of the table, and former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has said that this season will be a very strange one, and also backed his former side Tottenham to win the league, especially with the signing of Gareth Bale.

“If you ask me, honestly, I think they will make the top four. I think they could even win the league this year,” the former Tottenham boss told Sky Sports. “I know people are going to think I am crazy but I look at that squad.

“It looks like it is going to be an open year. Look at what happened at the weekend.

“I am telling you, that is some squad they have got. They have got cover in every position. It is a really powerful squad. If anyone is going to upset the big two [it’s Spurs].”

He added: “Go through that team.

“Have a look at that squad. Go through that forward line. Heung-min Son. Harry Kane. Gareth Bale.

“Look at the strength in depth. They are full of midfield players. Defensively, they have two right-backs and two left-backs.

“They could be scary. I think Tottenham are a danger to anyone in that division this year. Lump on, whatever price they ask.

“If anyone else is going to do it, it could be Spurs.”
