Chelsea were strongly linked with a move for Luka Jovic, but the Serbian eventually sealed a £60m move to Real Madrid from Eintracht Frankfurt.
It hasn’t really gone well for the Serbian since he moved to the Los Blancos, and has not scored for Real since February.
Against Real Valladolid on Wednesday, Jovic drew blank yet again and missed a number of good chances.
However, Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno insisted after the game that he was happy with the 22-year-old’s performance and said he is still confident Jovic will eventually come good for the Blancos.
“Jovic’s header deserved a goal,” Butragueno said. “He was very good. The goals will come. We are calm.”
Chelsea have signed up strikers that never did well at the club over the years, and the Blues will be happy to have dodged that bullet in Jovic, and has now gone on to sign Timo Werner for a lesser fee, and the German is looking like he’d do well for the club.
The Serbian, Jovic, scored just twice last season and has not found the net in two La Liga starts this term, and Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, has now admitted that Jovic might leave the club even before the summer transfer window closes.
Chelsea fans should be more grateful for the signing of Werner after this recent form of Jovic, who will now be marked as a failed Galactico.
